“Traditional sweet bites from Sfakia, in Crete. They are also known with the name “Wedding rusks” or “Kalorizika”(which mean “Good Luck”). They are served to the guests of Cretan weddings and births. People believed that they would bring good luck, which justifies their name.
These bites are made with the old recipe of Douroudakis sisters. They are kneaded with carob flour and hazelnut, which give them a lovely taste and texture. A great snack to be paired with milk, coffee or tea. But also, it can be eaten with gruyere or any other salty cheese.
